SARAH & KYLE WEDDING AT THE PRADO
A PERFECT MATCH.COM PART 1
Their beautiful San Diego Wedding was at the historical Prado at Balboa Park. Balboa Park is perfect place for a San Diego Wedding and it makes for the perfect backdrop for amazing photos with it’s beautiful museum buildings, wishing well and ponds, long stunning hallways and arch ways, the “Blue” & “Wood”door, Koi pond, gardens and so much more.
This location was extra special to Sarah & Kyle, as this was where they had their first date. Having first met through Match.com, their love blossomed and eventually Kyle took Sarah on the Ellen Degeneres show (Sarah’s favorite show) and to her surprise proposed on national TV. Then to both their surprise, Match.com donated $50,000 to their dream wedding. I can’t think of a couple more deserving of this wonderful blessing! Their smaller wedding turned into a larger scale, beautiful destination wedding in San Diego – and of course, what better place than where it all began, The Prado at Balboa Park. From there they were asked to be guest judges on Cupcake Wars and the winning pastry provided them with cupcakes for their fun beachside Rehearsal dinner at Breakers Beach Deck in Pt. Loma, which was filmed for one of their episodes. For photos and details on the Cupcake Wars Rehearsal dinner, click here: Rehearsal Dinner Breaker’s Beach Pt. Loma

PART 1 – THE CEREMONY

Beautiful Wedding Dress and the Groom’s Military Dress Blues
The girls having fun in their limobus on the way to the Prado!
Groom & his Groomsmen in their pre-ceremony bridal party photos
The ladies strike a fun pre-ceremony bridal party pose!
This stunning purple and ivory bouquet was created by Bethany at Splendid Sentiments. Love the personalized rhinestone brooch and detail work on the handle. One of Bethany’s signature creations.
The girls peak out the Prado’s bridal holding room, while the guys take their photos around the Park.
The bride and groom take their pre-ceremony photos separate from one another… anxiously awaiting the ceremony!
Beautiful ceremony floral design by Bethany at Splendid Sentiments – it was breathtaking. Loved the crystal details and floral Pomander centered in the middle of the wishing well.
Loved this soft ivory scrolling petal design on the grass area and down the sides of the aisles and the little touch of the floating dahlias in the pond.
- Sheppard’s hooks held darling pomanders dripping with crystals, the wishing well held the candle lighting ceremony items and the end of the aisle had these violet fabric covered podiums with florals pieces, which are later used at the ceremony.

More beautiful ceremony details, the candle lighting ceremony items with matching purple lighters, loved the florals by Splendid Sentiments on the Wishing Well.
Sign-In Book, which was at the Rehearsal as well. Added engagement photos to the sign-in table.
Kyle anxiously awaits his bride as she makes her way down the Prado stairs onto the aisle…
The large bridal party and handsome groom sees his bride coming down the aisle, wish I knew what the Officiant whispered into Kyle’s ear to give him such a smile!
Here she comes down the aisle… love the expression on Kyle’s face!
The Bridal Party were each given a coin and then (strategically – cause there were 22 of them!) they filed around the wishing well and when instructed threw their coin in the pond making a “Well Wishes for the Mr. and Mrs.”
Here the couple is tossing in their coins to the Prado pond, the bride and groom tossed in their own coins as well – wishing many blessing over their own marriage I’m sure!
This was one of my favorite parts of the ceremony, they had their own very special moment behind the wishing well while Collin Elliott played a song. There were heartfelt tears of joy and sweet moments of laughter!
More of the wedding kiss and now the introduction for the first time… “As husband and wife”!
No military wedding would be complete without the infamous sword arch ceremony… the couple enters down the aisle passing under the swordsmen, then at the end the last two Swordsmen stop them from exiting with their swords crossed, then the couple enjoy another martial kiss – then as they pass swordsmen lightly taps the bride on the booty with his sword! So cute and love the personal touch to their ceremony!
Swordsmen stop the couple with their swords before they exit the ceremony area for one more kiss!
More beautiful shots around Balboa Park of the bridal party and them just the newly married couple.
Love this shot of the couple in front of the large wood brown door and of course, the sweet shot of the Bride kissing her handsome groom! So happy!
