Kory Christenson & Sarah Albert’s
MaGee Park in Carlsbad, CA.
I can’t think of a better wedding to kick off Social Butterfly, A Monarch Weddings Blog then the 1st wedding managed under the Monarch Weddings business name, which happens to hold an extra special place in my heart because it is also my little brother’s wedding.
MaGee park was the perfect backdrop to their San Diego beachy wedding, as it was their neighborhood park and a place they would visit daily when they would take their dog Tiki for a walk. They spent many of afternoons and picnicking under the beautiful trees and would wonder around the parks neat barn like buildings and rose gardens.
WHAT INSPIRED THEIR WEDDING THEME!
The decor of their wedding was a mix of shabby chic & touches of glam elements, but their theme was centered around a Tree theme, which was inspired by their beautiful engagement photo (left below). Their love is rooted deep like the roots of a tree!
And if you look closely you will see two brightly colored Orbs on the left upper side of the picture. I truly believe the two orbs of light were the souls Sarah’s mother & Kory’s Grandmother. It’s pretty amazing!
LOVE IS IN THE DETAILS….
BEAUTIFUL PEONY, HYDRANGEA, GARDENIA BRIDAL BOUQUET
by Splendid Sentiments Floral Design
Once again, Bethany created a perfect bouquet to reflect the bride’s individual personality & style. Sarah’s bouquet was a beautiful mix of her favorite white flowers; Peony, Gardenias and Hydrangea. Wrapped in a grey ribbon with wonderful touches of rhinestone accoutrements throughout and framing the handle, then it was polished off with a rhinestone and baby blue broach – which I got her as a wedding gift…for her “Something Blue“
Splendid Sentiments Floral Designs also created this sharp looking boutonniere for Kory and all the other wonderful floral decor throughout the wedding. She is awesome and has such creative vision!
THE WEDDING DAY GIFT EXCHANGE BETWEEN BRIDE & GROOM!
As a gift to his stunning bride, Kory (being the hopeless romantic and extremely thoughtful man he is) got Sarah a beautiful angel wing heart shaped locket and inside was one of Sarah’s favorite picture of her mother who had passed. Oh man, there wasn’t a dry eye in the house. The Monarch Wedding team placed the locket on her bridal bouquet so that her mother would be close to her heart on her wedding day.
THE FIRST LOOK WITH BALLOONS
Kory and Sarah wanted to see one another before the ceremony to get many of the formal photos out of the way so they could enjoy some of their cocktail hour. We set each of them up with a cluster of white balloons which covered their faces from seeing one another. Sarah slowly approached Kory as he faced the opposite direction until the last moment. Then right as they were face to face, they each released their balloons revealing a magical “First Look”!
FINGERPRINT LEAF FOR GUEST SIGN-IN BOOK (PICTURE)
Tying in with the Tree theme, they had a personalized painting of a tree created with their names and wedding date. Guests used one of the 3 shades of ink pads to create their own unique fingerprint, then signed it. This picture is hanging in their living room today!
CEREMONY
Kory and Sarah sittin’ in a Tree… K I S S I N G! First comes Love… Then comes Marriage…
Nestled between two tall trees and under an amazing arch made of curly willow, flowers, hanging crystals and a crystal chandelier designed and created by Bethany of Splendid Sentiments…. Finally, the two love birds were husband and wife!
All the key elements of their decor and theme were present and reflected in their ceremony!
