I had such a great time this past weekend at the US Grant Bridal Show – Swoon4 held at the US Grant Hotel downtown San Diego. It was wonderful to see so many amazing and very talented vendors and peers. I also enjoyed the yummy food samples, champagne and all the beautiful inspiration.
I was honored when Melissa Ward of Whimsique Invitations and Stationery asked me to partner up and help design the Whimsique booth for the show. It was fun brainstorming ideas on how to tie the “winter” theme we were given to her company brand. What better place to start but with her company name “Whimsique” which is a combination of the words “Whimsical + Unique”, this immediately sparked an idea to create a whimsical winter wonderland. From there, it only made sense to tie in brand color, so we went with the very popular (on trend) mint color since it is the color of her font on her logo. The beautiful mint sequin linen & chair covers from La Tavola seemed to be the obvious choice!
We turned to the very talented florist Bethany of Bethany’s Designs at Splendid Sentiments. She created elegant bunches of floral clusters that had touches of glitter for the extra whimsy factor, which cascaded along the front and down the center of the square shaped sweet heart table, then on each side table there were silver manzanita trees dripping with crystals (Wishing Tree), lots of warm candlelight with a mixture of silver and gold mercury candles and votives. We also placed wood texture pieces down the center of these tables with small clusters of florals tucked in, which we leaned Melissa’s beautiful invitation samples on to showcase her work.
Then for the wonderful touches of whimsy – white butterflies, a family of fluffy white owls, crystals, glitter dust sprinkled on the florals and all around, plates with ornate butterflies, snow atop the wood chips and etc. It was so much fun pulling this whimsical look together.
Color pallet: Mint and White, with crystals and mixed metals of silver and gold mercury and wood elements adding the natural textures.
Thank you Tim Otto Photography for taking the photos and getting us the images so quickly!
