PART 1 – PRE-CEREMONY & CEREMONY

Super gracious, very fashionable & stylish,  and truly beautiful (inside and out) are just a few words I could use to describe this power couple (Misha & Cecil).  I was so excited to get the wonderful opportunity to work with them to create their chic Great Gatsby inspired dream wedding.   They found me through seeing some of my work at the Prado Balboa Park where I designed and planned a Gatsby inspired themed wedding for another couple in 2014 (Jennifer & Chad) and they had pretty much decided I was “There girl” (wedding planner) before meeting me in person.  I was so honored of course!  They too really loved the Gatsby inspired theme, so we created their chic Gatsby themed wedding with their unique spin on the design. You can see more of the Gatsby design elements in the reception details in Part 2 “The Celebration/Reception” blog post.

With a rich color pallet of Black, Gold and a deep beautiful Red and their hip and stylish style I knew this would be a chic elegant affair and so much fun to design!  I brought them to the talented  Splendid Sentiments Floral Design, the florist I worked with on my previous Gatsby inspired wedding, it was a perfect and natural fit. I had a wonderful time collaboration with Bethany of Splendid Sentiments and the stylish couple.  During our floral meeting the bride (Misha) told us she didn’t like roses.  However, after we showed her how beautiful red rose is when it’s refluxed, well she fell in love and the funniest part of this was her wedding ended up being ONLY roses – her choice!   Splendid Sentiments used beautiful shades of red with Black Magic, Freedom red roses, and red spray roses.  We incorporated other glitzy elements such as gold, pearls, crystals and sequin linens and of course, what would a Gatsby inspired wedding be without large fluffy ostrich feathers.

They were such a stylish couple and it shows in each and every detail of their wedding from their bridal attire to the dinner reception.  The bride (Misha) wore a stunning couture Ines Di Santos wedding gown,  which had a beautiful beaded bodice with halter top and a mermaid flair bottom.  The lower portion of the dress and train had a beautiful textured layered feather design, which paid homage to the Gatsby theme.  She wore a bright red lip, which was sassy and stunning on her gorgeous skin tone, as well as fitting for the theme. He wore a fitted chic Black by Vera Wang tuxedo and a stylish sleek Movado watch and custom monogram cufflinks (gifts from his beautiful bride).

True Photography really captured the true essence & beauty of this romantic, chic and positive high-energy of this wedding. Of course, I don’t think Misha and Cecil could take a bad picture, they were both so stunning and photogenic.

Misha and Cecil has this glass rose made (out of a real rose) customized to honor Cecil’s mom who wasn’t with them that day… except in spirit!

Ines Di Santos dress was stunning!!! I loved the texture bead word on the bodice and the feather texture effect on the bottom portion of the dress,  which really worked well with the Gatsby theme.

Custom cufflinks were a gift given to Cecil by his soon to be wife! Such a great idea.

Memorial Candle in honor of Cecil’s Mom.  It was a beatiful tribute to her and a great part of the ceremony.

Cecil and Misha had this beautiful painting made with the glass rose to honor Cecil’s mom. I know she was looking on lovingly and so proud of her wonderful, sweet son.
