I had so much fun planning this wedding with Abby & Grant and collaborating on design with the very talented floral design Jennifer Cole Florals. It was al honor to be a part of Abby & Grant’s wedding day and especially special for Monarch Weddings to partner up with such a prestigious venue as the Monarch Beach Resort – truly a dream come true! read more
With her sweet southern like charm and stunning looks, it’s no wonder Ana won Reid’s heart. Ana grew up in Los Angeles but as fate would have it, she moved out to Dallas where a mutual friend introduced her to Reid. They feel deeply in love for one another and were soon engaged. Two years later they were saying “I do” at Mary, Star of the Sea, a little Catholic chapel in La Jolla, CA.
Mary, Star of the Sea was the chosen location for their romantic ceremony because it had special meaning to Ana and her family, as this is the same church Ana’s two brothers were baptized in many years before. While Ana and Reid were visiting San Diego they visited the Grand Del Mar and feel in love with the regal sophisticated beauty of the grand property and in particular the stunning Capella Chapel at the Grand Del Mar. They decided that this would be the ideal place for them to have their reception… and that it was.read more
Using a rich color pallet of Black, Gold and a deep rich Reds, we created a sophisticated, chic and modern twist on the Gatsby Theme. We incorporated other glitzy Gatsby elements such as gold accents (charger plates, mercury votives, and gold vases), pearls and crystal details in the floral decor elements and rich elegant sequin linens for all the tables. And of course, what would a Gatsby inspired wedding be without large ostrich feathers and a staple champagne tower.
We used black sequin linens for the guest tables and sweetheart table by APR Fine Linens and used a combination of round tables and two long rectangular tables framing either side of the dancefloor.read more
Super gracious, very fashionable & stylish, and truly beautiful (inside and out) are just a few words I could use to describe this power couple (Misha & Cecil). I was so excited to get the wonderful opportunity to work with them to create their chic Great Gatsby inspired dream wedding. They found me through seeing some of my work at the Prado Balboa Park where I designed and planned a Gatsby inspired themed weddingfor another couple in 2014 (Jennifer & Chad)and they had pretty much decided I was “There girl” (wedding planner) before meeting me in person. I was so honored of course! They too really loved the Gatsby inspired theme, so we created their chic Gatsby themed wedding with their unique spin on the design. You can see more of the Gatsby design elements in the reception details in Part 2 “The Celebration/Reception” blog post.read more

Designing and planning this glamorous gold, lovely lace and lavender wedding at the Hotel Del Coronado was so much fun! The bride (Kathryn) and Groom (Nick) lived on the East Coast, so we planned their destination wedding all over the phone. In fact, I met her for the first time at the Rehearsal. She intrusted me with all the planning and design, which was so fun for me. In fact, at the beginning of the design process, the I asked her “what are some of your favorite wedding design elements and colors”, to which she replied, ” I love lace and bling and my colors are ivory, violet/lavender, and gold”. Then of course, she shared her pinterest board with me and I saw that she loved opulent floral centerpieces and got a good sense of her style, so from there it was a fun design process and collaboration with Bethany and Splendid Sentiments for floral decor. We decided to keep the Ceremony and Reception mostly soft ivory, gold and lace (shown in Part #1) and the Cocktail hour we played up the lavender color. I feel in love with Concept Event Designs new lace linen with a gold soft bridal satin.read more

THE HOTEL DEL CORONADO
PART 1 – DETAILS & CEREMONY
I had a blast designing and planning this glamorous gold, lovely lace and lavender wedding at the Hotel Del Coronado. The bride (Kathryn) and Groom (Nick) lived on the East Coast, so we planned their destination wedding all over the phone. In fact, I met her for the first time at the Rehearsal. This worked so well because she truly trusted me ad the wedding panning and design process.
As for the decor/design of this beautiful wedding, the bride allowed me to truly showcase my expertise and design skills by giving me pretty much design control. I presented ideas I thought would be amazing and it seemed to click perfectly with your design aesthetic – we also through in some surprises she didn’t know about. The results are magical! At the beginning of the design process, the I asked her “what are some of your favorite wedding design elements and colors”, to which she replied, ” I LOVE lace and bling and my colors are ivory, violet/lavender, and gold”. Then of course, she shared her pinterest board with me and I saw that she loved opulent floral centerpieces and got a good sense of her style, so from there it was a fun design process and collaboration with Bethany and Splendid Sentiments for floral decor.
